Bibendum tyres were developed in France and are also similar to the wired-on type used with well-based wheels.

The tyre can only be fitted from one position since the wheel rim has a well around only half of its circumference.

Sizes are in centimetres and are NOT interchangeable with ordinary wired-on tyres. They were phased out in the 1930s.
